Sol Spa is a distinctive spa service company on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. The company's founder is Linda E. Balash, a Licensed Aesthetician and Certified LaStone® Massage Therapist, who formally trained and established herself within the fast-paced spa industry in Vancouver, British Columbia, including Bianchés Health & Beauty Clinic. After a rejuvenating excursion to the Sunshine Coast, Linda began her pursuit of passion to establish a company focused solely on providing exceptional and personalized spa service. Established in 2002, Sol Spa is proud to have its roots on the Sunshine Coast. While just a stone's throw away from the city, the Sunshine Coast is a spectacular and diverse region unto its own, with an essence of natural simplicity - the ideal setting to take time for you.

Linda's experience and training includes Swedish massage, aromatherapy, LaStone® Therapy (Masters) including deep tissue, Reiki, esthetics and spa technologies. She is an active participant in various health, spa and cosmetology seminars and conferences, including Esthétique Spa International, and is a proud supporter of the Coast Cultural Alliance.

Sol Spa has established its day spa studio located within a 1950's cottage in Davis Bay, Sechelt, British Columbia. The studio is situated just steps away from a beautiful beach known as Davis Bay, at low tide the sandy beach is a favourite for swimming, sandcastles and nature lovers. Along the waterfront esplanande enjoy the captivating views of the Trail Islands, and the best sunsets on the coast! Our professional studio contains an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary décor, with some Balinese influences. Our quiet and calming atmosphere is suited to individuals seeking relaxed and personalized day spa services.

Upon making your appointment, Sol Spa's resident manx, Oreo, may welcome your arrival to our studio. Oreo's experience and training includes deep relaxation, meditation and he occasionally assists as a foot-warmer. Guests are always welcome to a short tale about Oreo.

Do I have to expose my body during a treatment?

No, during a treatment you are draped with a sheet or a towel. Massage therapists are trained to massage and work in a manner that respects your privacy.

Can I have a massage while I'm pregnant?

Yes, massage is both soothing and therapeutic for mother and baby. Pillows are used to accommodate your belly.

What is the difference between LaStone® Therapy and other stone massages?

LaStone® therapy is the original hot and cold stone massage®, founded and developed by Mary Nelson of Tucson, Arizona. This unique form of massage is accredited by the American Massage Association and the International Massage Association and has become popular at spas around the world. This technique uses both warm and cool stones to massage the body, integrating traditional practices with a current approach.

Does the LaStone® massage hurt?

No, the stones actually facilitate a deeper state of relaxation. The penetrating heat soothes and sedates muscle tissue, while the use of cool temperatures stimulates circulation and assists the body in self-healing.

Can I request that the LaStone® massage be gentle?

Yes, a LaStone® Therapist is trained to respect each individuals concerns and needs. The massage can be as firm or gentle as required.

Can I have a facial if I have allergies?

Yes, you can have an Éminence Organic Facial if you have allergies. Allergies to food are usually internal, however there are exceptions. A personal consultation can address your concerns, which may require avoiding certain products during the treatment.

How much notice is needed to book?

Usually, to organize a time of your choice it is best to book a few days in advance. You can book with Sol Spa directly or through the accommodation you are staying at.

Does the cost of Sol Spa services vary per location?
